Despite the fact that this was said over 50 years ago in a Communist Nation, it holds true to the world today, somewhat. In America, owning land has become commonplace, but Half of the world lives on less that $2 a day, Americans on average live on, say, $50. That's 25 times more than half of the world. Despite what we've tried to do, this fact is just that, a fact!

And those people all make under $2, so the average American is even more than 25 times richer than half of the people in the world. A lot of the time it's more like 50 times, or 100 times, or 500 times...and even that doesn't really do justice to the truth, because even in America ten percent of the population controls ninety percent of the wealth, and even among that ten percent, the top ten percent controls 90 percent--that's 1% of America with 81% of our money, folks. This stuff is serious.
